Step into a world full of adventures,
where the vulture invites his friend, the maned wolf,
to come and eat.
The maned wolf lives on the ground,
among the tall trees and the swaying grass of the cerrado.
The vulture soars high in the sky
and watches everything below from afar.
They both look through a different lens,
seeing the world just a little differently,
causing small misunderstandings to fill their adventure
with surprises and mischievous pranks.
What happens when you get back at each other?
And what role does the cow play in this extraordinary story?
For little explorers aged 4 and up:
come and fly over the grasslands
and experience this exciting adventure!
Maned Wolf and the Vulture is a solo performance based on a Brazilian fable. Through dance, poetry, and life-sized puppets, the Vulture and the Maned Wolf come to life; two animals who do not understand each other because they view the world from completely different perspectives. A third character, the cow, provides a surprising ending. The storytelling is interactive, humorous, and multi-layered, with an opportunity after the performance to meet all the characters and the puppeteer.
The performance is created by Josje Eijkenboom, who has been associated with Duda Paiva Company as a performer for a long time. She is an actress and theater maker who graduated from ArtEZ University of the Arts in 2014 and later obtained her Master’s in Devised Theatre and Performance in Berlin (Arthaus Berlin/LISPA). Manenwolf en de Gier is her first production as a director for Duda Paiva Company.
